sealers

Concrete is a naturally porous material and will stain if unprotected by a sealer. We offer two different sealers for you to choose from depending on your situation.

All of our sealers are non-toxic, food-grade, and low VOC.

penetrating sealer

This sealer option offers a "natural" look and feel and will enable the concrete to develop a warm "patina" over time.

  • Protects from staining, but offers little or no protection from acidic foods (lemons, red wine, vinegar, etc.).
  • Countertops develop a warm patina over time, similar to soapstone, limestone, marble, and copper.
  • Carnauba wax acts as a sacrificial coating and can easily be applied as often as desired.
  • Yearly re-application of sealer will maintain stain protection.
  • For countertops we recommend choosing a ground finish with this sealer for best stain resistance.
  • Ultimately the concrete can be refinished and renewed.

topical sealers

Our topical sealer provides a durable barrier to protect the concrete from staining.

  • Great stain protection from oils and acidic foods.
  • Sealer can scratch or be cut by sharp or rough objects. Spot repairs are possible.
  • Requires no regular maintenance.
  • Available in gloss, low gloss and matte sheens.
  • Countertop may need to be resealed every 5 to 10 years, depending on use.
